The Great Wiggle Debate

You better know who your favorite Wiggle is if you want to talk to Emma. She is very clear about her favorite(s)! Kaelen found this out while they were riding together to on the way to gymnastics.

Holiday Shopping

So, I thought it would be a good idea to let Emma look through catalogs to help figure out what she really wanted for Christmas. This idea was not one of my better ones, as you can see. Whenever there was any magazine around, she would grab it and point to a random thing and say, " hey, look at this!" She was very funny about it and I happened to catch this one on video.

Emma and Myles

Emma didn't waste any time showing Myles how she does her puzzles.

Emma loves playing dress up! She loves to talk about what others will dress up like. What will Myles say he wants to dress up like?

Emma doesn't really adhere to the strict rules of hide and seek... she always tells where the thing is hidden or sometimes she even finds it herself after hiding it!

Myles was an excellent story teller. Here's a rousing rendition of BINGO!

Gymnastics

Emma's been going to gymnastics now since September 2009. She upgraded to the class with the older kids this year which is in a larger area with more advanced equipment. In the above video, she's showing her forward roll skill. She does this at home as well but it's usually after climbing on me and making me hold her legs for a handstand. Fun for her, not so much for me...

In the class, there is a circuit set up each week that is pretty much just an obstacle course.

Emma loves loves loves the trampoline. I would get her one of these for home but I don't think I'd ever get her off of it. Not to mention that she'd probably jump right over the bar and hurt herself. Wow, that was a mom thing to say...

Lastly, here is Emma doing her jumps down the big trampoline. She's supposed to walk back on the grey strip next to the trampoline but she has ideas of her own. In her defense, she does think about coming back the right way but abandons the thought in favor of the more direct route!

Mr. Knickerbocker

I know there are those out there that are anti Barney but we tend to watch him quite often. What can I tell you, the tunes are catchy! Here Emma shows that she got her rhythm as well as her ability to sing correct lyrics from her dad, not me.

Real Halloween!

Emma went trick-or-treating with Kaelen and Ryan. We were on the early side but we did manage to find one family ready with candy.

Emma went trick-or-treating at a few houses around home but then decided she'd rather give candy out to the other kids. It was a very cold night to be outside.

Early Halloween

We went to a pre Halloween party at Grandma Linda and Grandpa Ken's building in Cambridge. I'm a tiger girl!

Kaelen was a princess and Baby Ryan was a frog.

Now only 2 more Halloween parties and real trick or treating to go...

Apple picking

We had a great day at Shelburne Farms with Tara, Kaelen, and Baby Ryan. We picked more apples than anyone really needs. How many things can one make with apples? We'll find out...

Cousins

Kaelen seems very happy to show Emma around Drumlin Farm.

We saw all sorts of animals, including the biggest pig we've ever seen (not that we've seen many pigs in our life)!

I'm not sure a snake counts as a farm animal :) I am very sure that I wouldn't have sat so close to it though.

Touch a Truck

Emma loves trucks, especially bulldozers. Yes, I know this is a backhoe. Emma calls all work trucks bulldozer though.

This was a really fun event to go to but as you can hear in the video, the sirens and horns became annoying very quickly.

We stopped at the bouncy house on the way out. Emma held her own against the much larger jumpers in there. I think I was much more nervous for her than she was.

at the aquarium

I'm sure you've all heard the stories of Emma and the penguins. She loves talking to them. Here's some video evidence!

Singing...

Emma is a budding singer! I think the bear went over the mountain...
